Do you need to be fast from the start on Bain TestGorilla, or does pacing improve naturally?

I'm still pretty slow even when I understand the q. I can get decent accuracy, but the pace is nowhere near where I want it. Should I force timed practice early, or build accuracy first and let speed come later?
Mayank G.CoachBuild accuracy first, but introduce timing early enough that the clock is not a surprise. Waiting until you feel perfect untimed can create a separate pacing problem later.

I'm trying to improve my speed for Bain TestGorilla, but when I push myself to finish everything my accuracy drops noticeably. If I have to choose, is it generally better to answer fewer questions carefully or move faster and attempt everything?
Mayank G.CoachWithout knowing the exact scoring rules for a particular assessment, I would not assume that either completion rate or accuracy is always dominant. Your goal is to manage the tradeoff intelligently.

Untimed I can solve most of the numerical questions, but once I put the timer on my accuracy falls pretty fast. I either rush easy q's or spend way too long on one harder one. What should I change first, raw calculation speed, question selection, or just more timed reps?
Mayank G.CoachIf untimed accuracy is already decent, your first priority is probably pacing rather than relearning the underlying math. Break the problem into reading time, setup time, calculation time, and decision time to see where the seconds are actually going.
Bain TestGorilla: how much prep should go to verbal/critical thinking vs numerical?

Numerical is definitely my weaker area, but I don't want to ignore the verbal and critical thinking sections and then get surprised. If one section is clearly weaker, would you spend like 70-80% there or keep prep more balanced?
Mayank G.CoachIf numerical reasoning is clearly the weaker section, it makes sense to allocate more time there, but not 100% of your preparation. You still want enough exposure to the other modules that the format does not surprise you.

I'm practicing for Bain TestGorilla and keep getting stuck between 2 strategies. If I stay on a hard q I can usually solve it, but I lose a lot of time. If I move on quickly, feels like I'm just throwing away points. How aggressive should the skip strategy be in a timed assessment like this?
Mayank G.CoachOn a timed assessment, one hard question should not consume the time you need for several easier ones. Use a practical skip rule rather than deciding emotionally in the moment.
