Would you take an MBB interview underprepared or ask to push it?

I got an MBB interview sooner than expected and I am not where I want to be with casing. I can get through cases, but I am inconsistent and definitely not at the level I hoped I would be before the real thing. Part of me thinks take the shot because you never know. The other part thinks I am basically wasting a rare interview if I go in rn. Would you interview underprepared or ask for more time?
This depends on how underprepared you actually are and whether a reschedule is realistically available. There is a big difference between feeling nervous because you are not perfect and knowing that you still have major gaps in structure, math, or basic case mechanics.

A genuine family emergency is a valid reason to ask for another reschedule. I would not force yourself through an interview simply because you are worried about how a second request looks.

My interview is in a few days and my casing is way less consistent than I thought it would be. Some mocks are fine, some are honestly rough. I could ask to move it, but I also feel like I am making excuses. What would you do?
Do not make the decision based on one bad mock or the feeling that you should be more confident by now. Interview preparation is noisy, and even strong candidates can have rough practice sessions close to the real interview.

One reasonable reschedule request is usually not a major issue, especially when you ask early and the conflict is legitimate. Recruiters deal with scheduling changes all the time.

I have an interview scheduled but a personal situation came up and I may need to cancel instead of reschedule. I still might want to apply again later. Is cancelling now basically going to look terrible?
Canceling an interview is not ideal, but it does not automatically burn the bridge if you handle it professionally. Recruiting teams understand that circumstances change and that candidates sometimes need to step away from a process.
Recruiter offered an earlier interview date. Should I take it?

My interview is scheduled for later, but recruiting offered me an earlier slot because something opened up. I could do it, but I would lose about a week of prep. Is there any advantage to interviewing earlier, or should I just keep the original date?
There is usually no meaningful advantage to taking an earlier slot purely because it is earlier. If the original date was confirmed and still works for the firm, you should choose the timing that gives you the best chance to perform well.
