Wait only if the promotion is likely to materially strengthen your profile and the delay does not cause you to miss a better recruiting window.

Reapplication is strongest when something meaningful has changed. A promotion can help, but so can stronger projects, leadership, or a better application.

If eligibility opens in June and your likely promotion is in July, waiting may make sense. If the next promotion is eight months away, the tradeoff is different.

Compare promotion timing with application cycles and ask whether your current profile already shows enough progress since the last attempt.

If the promotion is only a month away, I'd probably wait.
