Do not ask the interviewer to evaluate your performance at the end of the real interview. Use the closing time for thoughtful questions about the firm, office, or their experience instead.
Interviewers often cannot share an evaluation before the process is complete, and asking for a verdict can put them in an awkward position. It also shifts the final minutes away from a more natural professional conversation.
Instead of asking, 'How did I do?', you could ask what surprised the interviewer most when they joined the firm or what differentiates strong new consultants in that office.
Prepare two or three genuine questions before the interview. Afterward, write down your own observations while the case is fresh and use official recruiter feedback if the firm provides it. If useful, this guide on first-round consulting interviews gives more detail.
