Consulting can still make sense if the skills, exposure, and role you would gain are more valuable to you than going directly into tech.

The tradeoff is between breadth and direct experience. Consulting can build structured problem solving and executive communication, while a tech role may build deeper product experience sooner.

If your long-term goal is product management, two years in a strong product role may be more direct. If you want broad strategy exposure first, consulting could still be useful.
