Invitation-only events can be useful, but you should not treat them as a guaranteed signal of interview selection.
Their value is usually the access they create: you may meet recruiters or consultants, learn more about the office, and make it easier for people to remember you later in the process.
If you are invited, focus on being prepared, asking thoughtful questions, and having normal conversations rather than trying to force a referral or interpret every interaction as an evaluation.
If you are not invited, continue with the normal recruiting process. Strong applications, networking, and interview preparation still matter far more than one event. See consulting recruiting events.
