Most MBAs choose consulting for a combination of accelerated learning, broad business exposure, compensation and career optionality.
The post-MBA role gives you responsibility quickly. You work across different industries and problems, build structured problem-solving skills and get repeated exposure to senior clients.
For some people, consulting is also a way to pivot industry, function or geography after business school. The brand and alumni network can make later moves into strategy, tech, operations, investing or corporate leadership easier.
That does not mean consulting is automatically the best MBA outcome. The tradeoff is demanding hours, travel or intensity, and less control over the exact work you receive. Recruit because the work and trajectory fit you, not because it is the most visible path on campus. For more detail, see the what management consulting is.
