I reached the end of a case and realized my recommendation depended heavily on an assumption we never tested. Should I still recommend, or say I don't have enough information?
At the end of the case I usually know the answer, but my recommendation gets messy if I speak immediately. Is it okay to ask for 30 to 60 seconds to organize it first?
Mayank G.CoachYes. A short pause to organize a final recommendation is generally better than rushing into an unclear answer.
Sometimes the interviewer pauses after a section and asks what I'm thinking so far. Should I give a recommendation even though we clearly haven't finished the case yet?
Mayank G.CoachYes. Give a provisional synthesis based on what you know so far.
My final recommendations usually include the answer, reasons and risks, but I struggle with unresolved questions. If the case never gave enough information on something important, should I explicitly say that in the recommendation?
Mayank G.CoachYes, if the unresolved point could materially change the decision.
