I am worried about technical issues during an online case. If the platform logs me out or freezes but the timer appears to keep running, what should I document and who should I contact?
I normally do practice cases on a tablet with a stylus instead of paper. Is it okay to use that for scratch work during a virtual case interview, or could it look like I am using another device for something else?
Mayank G.CoachUnless the firm specifically allows or encourages a tablet, paper is usually the lower-risk choice. A second device can create ambiguity about what you are looking at, even when your use is completely legitimate.
If my video freezes during a virtual interview but I can still hear the interviewer, should I keep answering with the camera frozen, stop to troubleshoot, or tell them immediately?
Mayank G.CoachTell the interviewer immediately that the video appears frozen while confirming that you can still hear them. Do not spend several minutes pretending the connection is normal.
If my connection drops for a few seconds right when I am giving the recommendation, should I restart from the beginning or pick up where I think the interviewer lost me?
Mayank G.CoachPause, confirm what the interviewer heard, and restart from the last clear point rather than guessing.
