Tell recruiting as soon as the graduation change becomes reasonably likely. The earlier they know, the more options they have for adjusting a start date or class placement.
A delayed graduation can affect eligibility, onboarding and work authorization, so this is not something to hide until the last minute. At the same time, a scheduling change is not the same as withdrawing from the offer.
State the facts, the expected new graduation timing and what is still uncertain. Avoid over-explaining or promising a date you cannot yet confirm.
Ask what documentation or timing they need from you and keep them updated when the university confirms the final date. Keep a written record of the university confirmation so you can provide it quickly if recruiting needs formal proof of the revised graduation date.
