Matching your consulting office to your Master's field can help, but don't let subject alignment decide everything.

Some offices have a stronger presence in relevant industries, while generalist consulting roles can staff across several sectors. Your preferred city, languages and eligibility may be more important.

A sustainability Master's graduate might enjoy an office with energy clients, but could still develop relevant skills in another office with cross-border staffing opportunities.

Check each office’s staffing model and actual project mix rather than assuming it matches your academic specialization. You can use translating a specialised Master’s background into consulting skills to explain your strengths while choosing an office where you can develop broader consulting skills.

I'm doing a healthcare-focused MSc, but I'm not sure I want my first few years to be only health projects.
