Recruiter asked whether I have any restrictive covenants. What exactly are they trying to find out?
- Recruiter Screening
A recruiter asked whether I'm subject to a non-compete, non-solicit, or other restrictive covenant. I've never been asked this in recruiting before. Is this just legal screening, and how detailed should my answer be?

A recruiter wants a quick call after my final round. Does that usually mean an offer?
- Recruiter Screening
I finished my final round and the recruiter emailed asking if I have 10 minutes for a call later today. They didn't say what it's about. Is that usually how offers are delivered, or can rejection calls look the same?

Recruiter asked for references before my final round. Is that normal?
- Recruiter Screening
I haven't finished the interview process yet, but recruiting asked me to send two professional references. I assumed references would come after an offer. Is this just part of their process, or does it mean anything about where I stand?

Mayank G.CoachSome firms collect references before the final decision, so the timing alone is not a reliable signal.
