A recruiter told me I was moving to the next stage and said scheduling would follow, but it has been over a week with no update. When is it reasonable to follow up without sounding impatient?
I'm waiting on interview results, but I have another firm's deadline coming up. Is it okay to tell recruiting that and ask whether they can share an update sooner?
Mayank G.CoachYes. A real competing deadline is useful information for recruiting.
A recruiter asked whether I'm subject to a non-compete, non-solicit, or other restrictive covenant. I've never been asked this in recruiting before. Is this just legal screening, and how detailed should my answer be?
Mayank G.CoachThey are trying to understand whether any existing agreement could restrict the work you can perform, the clients you can serve or when you can start.
I finished my final round and the recruiter emailed asking if I have 10 minutes for a call later today. They didn't say what it's about. Is that usually how offers are delivered, or can rejection calls look the same?
Mayank G.CoachIt can be either, so do not treat the request for a call as confirmation of an offer.
