There is no single experienced-hire process across every office and role. A generalist candidate may go through a process that looks very similar to standard consulting recruiting, while a specialist or expert candidate may also meet people from the relevant practice.
The consistent part is that firms still need evidence of problem solving, communication, leadership, and motivation. Unless the recruiter explicitly tells you otherwise, you should assume case interviews remain a major part of the process.
A useful way to prepare is to separate process questions from performance questions. Confirm the number of rounds, interview format, and role level with recruiting, then prepare broadly enough that a variation in interviewer or case type does not throw you off. CaseBasix also has a guide to becoming a consultant as an experienced hire that explains the broader path.
