A transfer by itself is not a negative. Recruiters will mainly care about the record you present when you apply: your current school, academic performance, experiences, leadership, and overall trajectory.

The practical issue is access. If you transfer into a school with stronger consulting recruiting, you may gain more events, alumni, and structured application opportunities. But you still need enough time to build relationships and establish a strong record there.

Do not transfer solely for consulting recruiting unless the school change makes sense academically and financially as well. If you remain at a less-targeted school, the principles in breaking into consulting from a non-target are still relevant.

I transferred and nobody cared. The annoying part was I arrived late to some club/recruiting timelines.
