A CFA or CPA can strengthen a consulting profile, but it is usually a supporting signal rather than the reason you get interviewed. It shows technical discipline and credibility in relevant domains.
The designation matters most when it connects naturally to the work you have done or the practices you are targeting. It matters less if the rest of the application does not show problem solving, leadership, and impact.
A CFA may reinforce an investing or financial-services story, while a CPA can add weight to finance transformation or transaction-related experience, but neither substitutes for consulting fit.
List the credential clearly, then spend more resume space on achievements. In interviews, use it when it helps explain your expertise rather than forcing it into every answer.
