Interviewers generally care about whether your notes support clear thinking, not whether the page looks attractive. Messy is fine if you can still find the structure, numbers, and conclusions quickly.

The risk is functional mess: lost figures, forgotten branches, or calculations you cannot reconstruct. Use simple zones on the page so the notes remain usable.

Do not spend interview time making the paper look neat for its own sake.
