Core compensation at large consulting firms is often standardized for a given role and office, so there may be less room than in some experienced-hire or industry offers.

That does not mean every term is untouchable. Start date, relocation support, signing arrangements, or level can sometimes be the more relevant discussion depending on your situation.

Ask where there is a real reason, not simply because you feel every offer must be negotiated. A professional question is unlikely to hurt you, but repeated pressure over standardized terms usually has little upside.
