If you understand the setup and are making progress, spending a little more time may be worthwhile. If you are rereading the same information or trying multiple approaches without progress, move on if the platform allows it.

In practice, track which question types cause you to get stuck. The goal is not only to skip faster, but to reduce the number of questions that reach that point.

I use a pretty hard skip rule now. if I'm rereading same thing twice with no progress, I move.
