A 3.9 is already a strong academic signal. At that level, improving your candidacy is much more likely to come from the rest of the application than from trying to squeeze out another small GPA increase.
Focus on building evidence across the full profile: leadership, impact, relevant work experience, a sharp resume, and relationships with people at the firms. If you receive interviews, the center of gravity shifts again toward case and behavioral performance.
Also remember that recruiting decisions are not made from GPA alone. School context, office demand, internship experience, and the overall applicant pool all matter. Treat the 3.9 as a strength, not as a guarantee.
