Introduction to the McKinsey Sea Wolf Game

The McKinsey Sea Wolf Game is a strategy-based simulation designed to assess a candidate’s analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills. It is part of McKinsey Solve, where candidates must select the best microbes to clean up 3 ocean sites based on their attributes and traits.

This chapter includes two versions of the Sea Wolf Simulation:

• Free Version: Lets you explore the Sea Wolf game layout. This version includes limited functionality and does not provide full gameplay or result feedback.
• Full Version (Paid): Includes 40 practice simulations with full gameplay access, step-by-step guided tutorials, and detailed results feedback.
  • 20 simulations (SW simulation 1 to 20) where each Site always displays 2 traits (one desired and one undesired).
  • 20 simulations (SW simulation 21 to 40) where trait display is random (a Site may show only 1 desired trait or both traits).
